our six-week introductory courses are the perfect way for new students to learn the fundamentals of this form in detail, and with plenty of one-on-one assistance. to register, contact us via phone or email with your name, phone number, and preferred start date. payment by cash or cheque is due at the start of your first class.
these classes are accessible to people of any age, level of flexibility, or experience. we are committed to finding the form of ashtanga yoga that will work for each individual, and are always happy to provide our students with whatever tools or help they need to enjoy their practice to its fullest.
what you’ll learn:
week 1: introduction to the style, ujjayi breath, sun salutations, basic closing postures
week 2: standing postures, balancing, drishti, modified backbends
week 3: warrior sequence, introduction to seated postures, shoulderstand options
week 4: more seated hip openers, deeper backbending technique, shoulderstand variations
week 5: basics of jumping/floating, working with bandhas, shoulder openers
week 6: developing flow through half primary, abdominal strengthening, complete inverted sequence for full closing

the cost for six led classes during the course and unlimited access to our mysore classes while you’re enrolled is only $86 (includes hst).
