carolyn johanson
carolyn is the director of path yoga and has been teaching ashtanga in kingston since 2000. her teaching style is direct but light-hearted, encouraging students to respect the tradition of ashtanga yoga, understanding it as a tool to explore the functions of body, breath and mind. she completed teacher training at it's yoga in san francisco, and has since taken workshops with sri k. pattabhi jois, nancy gilgoff, ron reid, darby, rameen peyrow, david williams, david swenson, and chuck miller and maty ezraty. she is grateful to all of the students who have allowed her to be part of their journey.

daniel adam
daniel began instructing yoga in british columbia. in 2001. he joined path yoga in the fall of 04. he views teaching as a service to help people in their personal transformation. daniel has completed an ashtanga teacher training with david swenson, and has take workshops or intensives from larry schultz (its yoga), rameen peyrow (edmonton), and shanti yoga works (nelson b.c.) daniel received his hatha yoga teacher certification from the upward dog yoga centre in ottawa in 2004. his teaching draws on many hatha styles, including iyengar, bikram, jivamukti, sivananda, kundalini, yoga for kids, and feldenkrais, as well the work of dharma mittra (nyc). |

elisa paloschi
elisa's life is much like the yoga she practices - she is always finding opportunities to stretch in new ways. lacking structure elsewhere in her life, she was drawn to asthanga yoga for the sequential order of asana. elisa is grateful to her teachers and students and appreciates the lessons in patience, focus, and commitment which come (slowly!) with her practice. elisa travels to mysore, india where she has studied under sri k pattabhi jois, sharath rangaswamy and BNS Iyengar.

gillian brown
gillian was introduced to yoga at a very young age and practiced off and on throughout her youth. while attending university in toronto, her love for yoga inspired her to deepen her knowledge and understanding of the practice. In 2004, gillian became a certified interdisciplinary yoga teacher at the nosara yoga institute in costa rica. she believes that yoga has the ability to strengthen, rejuvenate and heal the human spirit and feels blessed to be able to share her love for yoga and all that it has to offer with her students. |

glenn stairs
a counsellor, social worker and hobby farmer, glenn has been practicing yoga for more than ten years. as his practice has developed in recent years, he has introduced yoga to many of his clients. glenn has a comfortable and informal teaching style, livened by humour. he is particularly interested in the therapeutic and meditative aspects of hatha yoga, and draws on mindfulness techniques in his practice and teaching.

iris balodis
iris began practicing ashtanga after her doctor refused to prescribe painkillers for her chronic back pain. inflexible and weak, she began studying at the yoga sanctuary in toronto before moving to kingston. iris has been teaching at path yoga since 2002 and is honoured to lead other students in their practice. "facing your limitations when you begin practicing is difficult. more difficult is the realization that most restrictions are self-imposed -- there's no secret, just a lot of hard work."

jessica davis
jessica began practicing at path yoga in 2003. looking only to improve her flexibility and strength, she was surprised to experience the many benefits, aside from the purely physical, that ashtanga brought. jessica attended teacher training with allison ulan (ashtanga montreal) in 2004 has been teaching since the spring of 2005. jessica is grateful to all her students and teachers who continue to challenge her and share their experiences with her. |

kirsteen
is a certified sivananda yoga teacher who did her training in paradise island, bahamas. before that she studied with swami nityamuktananda in toronto for four years. she first came to yoga as a stress-crazed journalist over a decade ago. today, as a kingston yoga teacher, she shares what she’s learned about yoga’s amazing power to short-circuit stress. |

sarah smolkin
sarah began practicing ashtanga yoga at path in 2003 and her practice has continued to grow over the past 3 years while completing an msc. in holistic science at schumacher college in england, introducing yoga to a small community in rural japan and practicing in mysore, india.
sarah is grateful for the guidance of her many yoga teachers, both in and out of a studio, and completed her teacher training at path yoga. sarah hopes to share her love and fascination of yoga with her students and help them to develop their own practice. |
